The longer this war lasts, more Ukrainians will die and more territory Ukraine will lose. A ceasefire is in Ukraine’s interest.

It’s a theoretical argument anyways. Right now the Russians have zero interest in a ceasefire as they are consolidating their territorial gains in the east.

Depends. Russia is very close to reaching their publicly stated objective of liberating the Donbass.

Which is the same as I wrote? It will take them most likely a few more weeks to consolidate and then there might be an window of opportunity for a ceasefire, but who knows. But definitely not right now.

If Russia gets what they publicly stated, then they might be more willing to reach a ceasefire.

To end this conflict, there has to be a “honourable exit” for both parties involved.

Doesn’t Taiwan claim ownership over the Chinese mainland as well? They see themselves as the legitimate China.

As long as Taiwan claims ownership of the mainland, the pro-Taiwan-independence movement is fighting both mainland China and the Taiwanese government. It’s a real dumb move on Taiwan’s part.

They don’t threaten to invade or attack other people for even saying the name of mainland china.

I mean Taiwan can try to invade the mainland, but I don’t see that as a very promising enterprise. The difference in power is huge.

But the official Taiwanese position is that they are China, not the mainland.
