This is my argument for Telegram. It’s clients are open source and has good Linux support. And unlike Signal it’s actually nice to use. (non-tech people usually dislike using Signal, but the feedback from Telegram is very positive)

It’s a disgrace that Singal requires a phone number.

There are websites online that offer 10 minute phone numbers.

You can care about privacy, or you can ask a phone number during sign up. Those things are mutually exclusive.

Don’t use Signal you care about privacy.

I expect the republicans to win too. If sufficient number of Trumpists get in, then they might impeach the attorney general for this.

Depends. If there is a Republican victory in the midterms, then the FBI who did this is in biiig trouble. If not, then Trump is screwed.

Wine/DXVK (aka Proton) now runs native Windows games very well. We don’t need native Linux games to say that Linux gaming is a success. I have the Elden Ring example on purpose. It’s a Windows game, but runs much more smoothly on Linux with Proton (thanks to DXKV caching).

Linux gaming is not what it used to be. More or less everything now works as good as Windows, sometimes even better (see Elden Ring).

I think this happens if you enable the in-app browser, rather than going to FF.

How do we know they are really doing this? The app is closed source.
