@Ninmi I think it will likely happen. The only reason NATO decided not to allow them in was Russia. After the war, I guess it won’t be the case anymore.

I thought it was because NATO had a clause where the admitting country had to be free of conflicts at the time of entry.

It will all depend on how much leverage can be applied to Hungary. Much like Turkey was holding back Sweden’s entry, Hungary I think will try and hold back Ukraine’s.

It’ll happen, but not as soon as we think. First, war needs to end, and the only way to end is with Russia returning the occupied territories to Ukraine, including Crimea.

I think that Ukraine accession into UE will happen earlier than accession into NATO. And I don’t think that Orban, biggest Putin’s puppet after Lukashenko, is willing to allow Ukraine into NATO.

Even Finland couldn’t get guarantees and we’re talking about a country as NATO compatible and ready as it gets. That said I would expect no one in the alliance could deny a quick accession. They’ve fought bloody battles to escape Kremlin’s sphere for a decade now and I’m sure NATO accession is one of the main prospects of winning this war which would guarantee the safety of future generations, as it has done for the Baltic states.
