Plex lifetime server owner here. It’s getting harder and harder to give my elder family members access, since plex is burying my server under a mountain of their own programming.
client-wise, is Jellyfin easy for older folks to set up and access? Like people who only have an iphone, or a smart tv?
My mom and dad who are completely digital illiterate have no problem in access jellyfin in their android smart tv. Is simple as connecting to any service like Netflix or Prime Video (even simpler if you are on the same local network)
jellyfin is truly great.
How long did it took to install and configure all of that? I also want to try a setup like that but it seems like too much effort to do basically the same I’m doing just by downloading torrents manually.
Like 2 days and I’m not very familiar with docker. They’re running in docker containers with docker compose using portainer.
Maybe I’ll try. I’m most excited about Overseer/Ombi to easily see what I have and don’t have and discover new media easily.

I’m not OP, but I used swizzin community edition to set it all up. I’ve tried using some of the docker based scripts, and docker is just too complicated for me.
