There are old maps from Columbus’s time when people still thought it’s Eastern Asia and mapped Cuba as Japan, Florida as Korea and so on. It fits astonishingly well
The real “Sea of Japan”
Not only was the first image misleading, the “sea” is only separated from the pacific by the existence of the Japanese islands.
Hmm okay, then the original post (minus Japan) is actually the Sea of Cuba.
You’re thinking of the Caribbean sea, which is separated from the Atlantic by the Caribbean islands.
