We can call it HATE, yeah. There’s not a day when this OS is not my way.

Basic, plain Windows 10 Professional installation, nothing fancy. If it was not the gamers, it would have died long time ago.

I highly suggest you try windows 10 ltsc if you have to use windows. It doesn’t come with any advertising built in but they dont sell it to normal users so youll have to pirate it (oh no).

For the love of god, listen to this person. Windwos 10 Professional is the second worst version of 10 on the market (first being Home). If you don’t need Microsoft Store, Cortana and other cruft, get Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC. If you do need the Microsoft Store, then you should still avoid 10 Pro and get 10 Enterprise instead.

Because what’s so professional about an ad-riddled start menu?

I didn’t know professional was not like the name says it. I’m aware of something called marketing :) But I did think it was non-consumer/casual version of windows, as it’s what is mostly used in enterprise so far (eg: in workplaces)

Good to know about LTSC, is it like the Windows NT Workstation back in the day?

You picked my curiosity, I might give a try.

EDIT: https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx ho my god, this website from 98.

I’ve never used Windows NT Workstation, so I really couldn’t say. All I know is LTSC comes with barely anything pre-installed, which is great. Check it out for yourself in Virtualbox. You can easily find the ISO for the LTSC version of Windows 10 on, ahem, “the open seas”. I’ve had good experience with the group called {gen2}. Yes, with the curly braces.

I won’t use a cracked version (risky) and licensing is a hell of a ride apparently. I had 2h in front of me and I took the time , in parallel of other tasks, to clean up, reconfigure and backup this windows 10 instance.

Will see next week. Windows is quite punctual when it needs to mess up with you. ^_-

Is it opensource in the sense of distributed with sources or “opensource” in the sense of binaries hosted on Github like most stuff related to debloat windows? :) Yes, Windows users still don’t know what opensource means and blindly suggest repo.

It’s not your case here, I use this opportunity to remind people.

So, thank you, I will dig in.
