    Cabinet nomination incoming…

That’s a terrible reaction for Fuentes to have to someone ringing his doorbell. What did he have to be afraid of his life for? I hope she recovers swiftly.

When you’re scared of something outside your house, you don’t open the door wide and immediately attack it? But they could just be loitering out there forever. Scaring you forever

He said he was afraid because of what he posted online, which implies he is afraid of everyone all the time now. So, I can only assume this is the first person to ring his doorbell since he posted online, as that is his only possible reaction.

Our species’ weakest are inexplicably scared of everything. It might’ve been a useful trait at times in the forgotten past, but we’ve evolved a lot.

It’s one of those traits reserved for “persons of special consideration”, if you know what I mean.

Not trying to justify his actions, because he’s a piece of shit; but how this woman thought going to an online strangers house to confront them on camera was a good idea is beyond me. Hope she got some TikTok views I guess.

going to an online strangers house to confront them on camera

Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do? Ya know… Investigate?

If it was some Fox News personality that went to his door would it be any different?

What about a concerned neighbor? Or literally anyone who just happened by that day and say, found their mail was delivered to the wrong address. Or any number of reasons.

It’s never legitimate to open your door and immediately pepper spray someone ringing your bell. If you think they’re dangerous you could just not open the door or perhaps call the police or any number of other completely normal reactions.

Of course, if you’re a total psychopath Nazi then it might seem like a normal reaction 🤷

You seemed to miss my first sentence. His reaction is OBVIOUSLY not OK.

The point is there are crazy fuckers everywhere and going to confront someone you don’t know on camera is fucking dumb. It could have gone much worse for her (again to reiterate, because apparently I need to spell it out for you, I DON’T THINK THAT’S OK, but it was a seriously possibility and pretending it wasn’t is again, fucking dumb).

And did I miss something in the article? Where does it say she was a journalist investigating anything?

Aside from being horrific, the order is bizarre. He threw her down the stairs, then sprayed her with mace, then smashed her phone.

    Is this psychotic deescalation?

Aside from not liking rape jokes, this is a pretty bad take. People aren’t generally getting violated in county. That’s generally happening in more long term facilities like state or federal prison.

I hope he gets the book thrown at him. I hope his time teaches him just how wrong he is, or at least terrifies him into shutting his stupid fucking mouth. Hell, I hope he inexplicably disappears while he’s on the stand, baffling scientists for decades. But I’ll never wish for the rape of anyone.

Great, so we don’t need to do the whole paradox of tolerance thing then, yeah? Saying that it would be a shame if this guy’s own words came back to haunt him seems pretty fine to me.

If you look at my original reply you’d see that I never condoned tolerating him or his bullshit. I personally don’t like prison rape jokes. I didn’t say you couldn’t make them. I didn’t police you even a little. The fact that you’re so set on justifying rape jokes that no one told you to stop making tells me something about you.

If you’re that bothered by what an anonymous drunk thinks of the kinds of jokes you make maybe you should take a look at why you feel that way. I’ll give you a hint: it has nothing to do with the piece of shit this story is about.

I didn’t say you condoned his words. I took issue with your mischaracterization of my using his words in kind, as a rhetorical device. Have a good night.

Because Spain, the country that collaborated with Hitler, doesn’t have Nazi?

Many Latinos with a Spanish name identify solely as white, since you know the country their ancestors came from, Spain, is in Europe.

Collaborated is putting it mildly. Spain went full fascist with the help of Hitler, serving as a testing ground for their planes, equipment, and troops.

Sure they sat out WWII but that only meant their brand of fascism lived all the way into the 70s.

I hope he doesn’t get away with it, by construing it as defense of his home or something. I don’t really understand how those self defense laws work in the US, hopefully my fears are unfounded.
