Poland is to send a protest note to Russia after it removed a Polish flag at the Katyn cemetery, which commemorates Polish military officers killed by Soviet forces in 1940, the government said on Monday.

    So… They built a memorial for soldiers from a different country that they killed? And they placed the flag of that country??

    Meanwhile, in my country, civilians killed during the civil war remain buried God knows where…

      The memorial is an admission of a war crime. This was after Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union made an agreement to split up and gobble down Poland. Given that Putin is basing his justification for this invasion of Ukraine on Nazis, it is a little ironic that he’s dismantling a memorial that marks a dark point when the Soviet Union collaborated with Nazis.
