I like the format of all the news at once. It’s more relevant than the typical baking recipes in the weather forecast.

Or less, I’m not sure, but at least it’s better than TV with the sports news previews that they toss in everywhere to keep the cable watchers glued to the screen.

That’s not a sentence I get to say often, but I think about it everytime I watch the news. So I stopped watching news on TV. The information on shampoo bottles is more relevant anyway and I say that as a bald person.

Also better than the “articles” that are 9 paragraphs long and the one piece of actual info you’re looking for is buried under the 3rd subheading after 2 full page ads and also there’s a floating video player and the controls to mute or close it are in weird places so it takes you longer to find them.

inb4 get an adblocker, I’m just talking about what’s out there for the general user that doesn’t know better

Many years ago, I was in the habit of sitting on the couch after dinner to watch the TV news. I had been getting a little frustrated that it was more and more about ratings than news. One night I was watching and they were showing a high speed chase. Okay fine, but then I realized it happened in Ohio and I’m in California. Nothing especially amazing happened - how was it news? Oh, because they had a cool video.

That was the last time. I shut off the TV and went to the computer to read AP, Reuters, NPR, and/or Google News, and I’ve never looked back.
