but how to get people to understand that it even is a problem? So many seem to be content to constantly go against even their own interests. Its like most have been brainwashed so they attack you if you dare even suggest there is something wrong with all this. Or if they dont they will just be apathetic and throw canned “it is what it is” at you.

its sickening how they pretend to care about animals and nature by being vegan yet its just egotripping and blatant animal abuse. If they actually care about animals they should be the first ones denouncing vegan cat food.

at least here its more easy to just let them stew with eachother or for more sensible part of that community to just break off. in reddit its the site owner who ultimately decided how the site goes, here its the community itself. Though if majority of some community decides to just stick with some awful group, its quite bad for the minority that doesnt like the awfullness. But at least that is problem of our own making instead of what something some rich asshole decided and thus we can solve it ourselves too if we really want to. There is no way to unshittify reddit ever.

yes, that is the core of the problem. But its also too abstract to target at the moment. Those who understand dont need pointing out that it needs to go and those who dont might be able to at least see the “boils” if they cant see the disease.

make it so that every user owns their data collected by this and its all encrypted with some key private to that user. Then have only t he user be able to share the data with others. Or rather dont collect it all to some central database but have everyone make their own for private use.

But I dont think this is very good idea in the first place. What use is it to regular people to track others licenceplates? Who do you share the information with, the government? In usa they would just gleefully abuse it, in eu using it would just be horribly difficult for everyone involved due to legal issues and having private database about other peoples information isnt allowed or it requires somekind of registration i think, or was that only in finland.? In fact this might be outright illegal system in eu. Other places likely have superior database already.

And in the end, the whole thing will likely just be taken from you by force if nothing else works. Maybe some corporation will buy you out or maybe government will just seize it. No way they would just ignore something like this if it has any use to them.

So please be really careful how you do this so you dont end up making things worse for everyone by mistake. At least have some safeguards so you can destroy the whole thing if you need to so it cant be abused if anyone trys to take it from you.

Its nice idea, being able to track stuff independently, but i think it might belongs to some different, more friendly world, that is not this awful place we have to live in.

even if it was completely safe now, it will change in the fututure. Corporations just cant keep their hands to themselves and will saw any branch for short term profit because they will never get any REAL consequences for anything. Before long it would start connecting to internet to “better classify” the images by uploading everything to some server. Likely it will expand to every file eventually so it can “protect” you from whatever their spindoctors come up with.

at least its more equal than having people “volunteer” for service, even if the rich can still avoid it but its not like laws hold meaning to them anyway.

I have been thinking about this too. I cant say i know much but what keeps coming to my head about this is you need to have at least one friend/acquittance who thinks the same way and willing to start that group with you. If there are 2 of you its already a group and its much easier to do things and think about what to do next.

Protests should be considered mostly as a way of finding likeminded people instead of thinking they might change something. They might, but probably not. Still its worth it do them even if they dont seem to affect much. They show others there are people who care too.

To make such group mean something you really need to think what you ultimately want to achieve and how you should do it. Just demonstrating to other people that there are those willing to take action should do something. Just be smart about what you do and consider how your actions might affect the response so you are always prepared for consequences which will inevitably come if you manage to do do anything meaningful. So have a plan on how to stay safe and hidden and what to do if that fails so your group cant be easily crushed. Nowdays staying hidden is in another world compared to the historic movements, with how surveillance has advanced. So definitely try to get people aboard who know a lot about computers if you can.

Though there is always the route of trying to do stuff that doesnt cause hostile reaction from the authorities. Less danger but that is also playing by their rules and will have less impact unless you know what you are doing. Though no matter what approach one chooses, i think thinking outside the box is the key about finding what to do that works.

At least this is what comes to my mind about this, I cant say I have any experience about it though. Hopefully someone else knows better. I have been thinking about this too occasionally.
