    Sun will expand not explode. Still gonna burn the Earth though, assuming orbits don’t get wonky somehow

      Could still be considered an explosion, just really slow when looked at from a galactic perspective

          That’s until the life cycle of the sun ends and all it’s nuclear fuel will run out, forcing it into red giant, then white dwarf, forms. However, the sun will have expanded enough to make Earth uninhabitable, from what I can find, somewhere in the the neighborhood of 700ish million years, to 1.3 billion years.

      We would’ve had solar engines for millions of years by then too. Isn’t that hard to move earth or the sun to a more habitable distance.
