So like the title says, I just want to appreciate how good ubuntu+xfce (xubuntu) is. I love the simplicity & how lightweight this distro. There’s no bloat on minimal install, to the point I need to install the essential tools like task manager, music player, image viewer & xarchiver myself lol.

Nvidia driver installed without any problem, I can switch from on demand & performance mode flawlesly using nvidia x server. I also can make L2TP vpn working on xubuntu, dunno why but I’m having problem when using it on debian & win 11.

I’ll try using xubuntu as my daily driver. Wish I’ll never facing any problem in the future, especially about compatibility with ms.office.

Your desktop looks like that anime girl is staring at that ominous terminal, displaying neofetch while floating in the middle of her city

I really hope XFCE gets a port to wayland. I love the GTK2 desktops. I am young enough to remember GTK3 dropping when I was in middle school. I just never really liked gnome 3+ but I still use it for my HTPC (gnome works wonders on a TV)

Definitely consider KDE wayland if/when nvidia cards play nicer with that. Gnome is usable but buggy with nvidia but on my system (RTX 2060) KDE does not fair well.

I am a diehard swaywm user, but the only desktop environment I would consider is an XFCE wayland port.

Xfce is one of my favorite DEs, snappy and light

    compatibility with ms.office.

that’d be more of an application issue (libreoffice, onlyoffice, etc) than an xfce issue
