Nope. Nobody is going to walk around wearing those things. They’re a fad, like 3D TV. I used MS hololense years ago and it was cool, and apple’s version is tecnically superior (as it should be, years later), but it’s not going anywhere.
Exactly, and if someone is going to walk around wearing it, that person will be ridiculed like with Google Glass. Of course in an enterprise and luxury setting (like Hololens) the Vision Pro will gain traction, but will the ordinary folks use it? Nope.
It’s not supposed to be used by normal folks yet, it’s a good innovative step with the technology that shows we are still making progress with vr, maybe these improvements will be “copied” by cheaper brands in the future as has happened previously with the iPhone in the case of apple.
Call me close-minded and stuff… but why do we want or need VR? Sounds to me like yet another step in the wrong direction for people’s mental health and our fragmented societies. Shouldn’t we be encouraging people to build a better reality instead of building escapist technology?
AR I’m generally fine with, though. I like AR, it just hasn’t been convenient to use in any applications yet.
It’s just a fun toy like any other, but a lot of the major advancements in the apple release are more AR focused so that should bring you some comfort, part of why I’m excited is the increase of the convenience they’ve provided in this realm.
I think that’s really cool in a lot of ways, but the eye tracking part is probably going to be used in super creepy and annoying ways.
