Hi I’m a bit lost. When I want to share a post that a see on Lemmy to people outside (ex: on discord) it’s unclear to me how I should do that. I want to make sure that people will be able to see the post without loging in. Maybe a Share button would be nice?
Just copying the URL from the address bar should be enough, I think? There is nothing really where you have to be logged in to see it.
@nachtigall@feddit.de @jumanjimanju@lemmy.ml Ok, but if I want to share on Mastodon, I need to use the URL of the original post.
For example, try to copy and paste these URL in the search box of Mastodon:
https://lemmy.ml/post/1147609 (this one won’t work because it’s not the “original” URL)
https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/3836/Search-for-remote-magazines-communities-not-always-works (this one will appear on Mastodon)
Unfortunately mastodon is not something ive used before, so i cant really help you further than that…
Hopefully someone else can chime inNo clue there either. I can’t open either on Mastodon. So perhaps more of a Mastodon problem than a Lemmy problem?
Echoing the other comment. Afaik unless you want to comment, everything is the same when not logged in
Seems like I’m not the only one being confused about this: https://mastodon.social/@mcc/110526680864188856
People are copy-pasting a post URL in the search box and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
