Ukraine’s middle strike drone units are changing the battlefield by targeting enemy logistics, command centers, air defense systems, and critical infrastructure far behind the front lines. In this report, we join a Ukrainian launch crew as they prepare and deploy long-range kamikaze drones capable of striking targets hundreds of kilometers away, helping disrupt Russia’s ability to sustain its war effort. From mission planning and aircraft preparation to real combat results, Ukrainian soldiers explain how middle strike operations work and why they have become one of the most effective tools for weakening enemy forces. As these capabilities continue to expand, they are giving Ukraine new ways to reach deep into occupied territory and hit the assets that keep Russian operations running.
