Interesting article that points out the dilemma the Ukrainians are in. People that uses this as some kind of justification for the invasion are brain damaged though.

Russia doesn’t represent any kind of alternative to the negative aspects of western capitalism or ideologies however you want to define those hazy concepts, russia isn’t really even communist, it is just an openly corrupt dictatorship run by thugs that launder their crimes by fighting a villain much of the world hates (“the west”) to garner political support and legitimacy they do not rightfully deserve.

You are totally right, how corrupt Zelensky is or isn’t is a distraction from the basic truth that russia isn’t offering any kind of real alternative here on any level.

Russia’s argument basically always boils down to cynicism, they point and say “LOOK, they are no better than us!” as if even when they are right that establishes a justification for their own bullshit.

Zelenskyy wouldn’t even have been the president for the past 2 years if the invasion didn’t happen. Russia has nobody to blame but themselves.

I’m not saying he’s been doing a bad job, but nobody should hold any sort of power forever. Even good people eventually get corrupted

No aide, friend or ally of Putin would be prosecuted or even named in court without his personal permission, so Ukraine is undoubtedly better even in this.
