On Truth Social, President Trump claimed the US had an “unlimited supply” of arms. But he also used his post to mock Zelensky as “PT Barnum”, a 19th-Century US showman and hoaxer, suggesting Ukraine’s leader had tricked President Joe Biden into giving away too many US weapons for free.

This places Ukraine in a position where forces must go on the offense and threaten russian forces to mitigate ballistic missile attacks too, and that makes everything much more diplomatically difficult and stupid for Ukraine…
Still even with the high rate of ballistic missile attacks, I think Ukraine is in a stronger position than ever before relative to russia here, this childishly launched Iran war I think is in some ways an attempt to slow that global realization down and distract from it, a lurch in geopolitical power is happening right now essentially and it connects to basically everything if you follow the connections out enough (oil).
The Iran War is good for no one in the end though, that is why all of us, the entire planet, should be pissed off right now.
I get that Iran has provided weapons to russia, and has aided in the deaths of countless Ukrainians, but the point isn’t that the Iranian government isn’t culpable, that it hasn’t done heinous things. Fuck Iran for that, but that is beside the immediate, real world impact point here. This is pointless escalation done without domestic US legal approval that blatantly violates international law when Ukraine is being invaded right now and could be helped with all of those weapons.
Kids can build shaheds, they are just flying bombs, russia doesn’t really need Iran’s help to do that, what mattered was to fire off all the slow to produce air interceptors that were strategically removing Putin’s leverage over Ukraine as his frontline fails amid a near desperate over winter offensive.
