Lemmings of course.
I really like this one even if it does come with the implication that we are marching to our doom.
Its extra funny because redditors will definitely have a superiority complex about it. Look at those lemmings, all unthinkingly upvoting each other, unlike me, a profound and insightful redditor.
In my experience the the sentiment tends to flow in the other direction. There are often smug individuals who come to one of reddit’s smaller competitors and proclaim their personal superiority for that choice. Most the problems that reddit has come from its sheer size and lemmy will likely have its own set of problems if it ever reaches that size.
I’ve always thought it should be this, it just kinda makes sense.
Lemmings
This post is 2 years old, but I just wanted to point out how funny it is to call lemmy users lemmings.
It was the same basic self-deprecating joke with reddit, just more explicit with the name on lemmy.
This is the only answer
I’ve always been fond of Lemmynauts
lemm-o-nauts
Lemmings.
lemurs
Lemurs are cute!
this one
Nerds
Lemons?
that one was good
lemonters
Lemmurs or Lemmers? Just not “lee-murs”. 😁
Ach, I should’ve said lemmys or lemmies.

I like @SloppilyFloss@lemmy.ml idea of Lemmynauts lol.
Given the existence of kbin and potentially others, we shouldn’t be named something specific to lemmy.
We are obviously all feds
“The feds” don’t have the best connotation…
Also in practice the sentences come out a bit unclear to me. “The fed that posted this clearly knew their stuff.” “Some feds just like to stir things up.”
Edit: that said, I think that’s a really good point about the need for a platform neutral term.
I set for Lemmurs.
I’m fine with “lemmy user”.
Lemminists
lemmings are the masses, lemurs are the sophisticrats who must be overthrown
