It seems the German government is going crazy. Nothing they do makes much sense for the country.

Who supports her does not change the fact that the German government is going after independent journalists that are not affiliated with state media for reporting things that contradict state narrative. If you can’t understand why that’s problematic in a democracy, I really don’t know what else to say here.

What she’s reporting are actual facts of what’s been happening in Donbas, the fact that you’re able to simply dismiss that as pro-Putin propaganda shows just how effective your state propaganda is. You’re a living example of just how effective your state media is at brainwashing people. Anybody, like Richard, who provides are different point of view can be immediately dismissed.

Odds are, however, that she’s lying and spreading pro-Russian propaganda instead.

Did your state media tell you that?

That sort of a statement is not a valid argument for anything, and you use it all the time. I could just as well call you brainwashed and saying that would accomplish just as much: nothing.

The fact that you discard anything that contradicts the official narrative of your state media without any further investigation is a clear sign of brainwashing.

“Consider the source” is a perfectly valid technique to use when trying to figure out which things to trust and which not. It’s one of the most important skills of an internet citizen.

You should consider the motives and financing behind the state media sources you’re consuming. The fact that you only apply this logic towards media that contradicts your state narrative shows lack of critical thinking on your part.

Did my state media tell me what? That Russia lies a lot? That’s not something I need the media to know.

You actually do need state media to know this, because this is where the idea that Russia lies more than your own state came from.

Sure I should. But disregarding a fringe single-viewpoint youtube channel based on the monotony of its content is not a sign of lack of critical thinking. Posting content from such a thing is.

The point here isn’t with whether you agree with her reporting or not. The point is that she is being prosecuted by your “democratic” state for contradicting the state narrative. And anybody with a modicum of critical thinking ability would see why that’s a problem.

Does it matter? Are we ok with this because we disagree with what she is reporting? She is not a combatant.
