According to Wikipedia there are different sub disciplines for deadlifts but the highest record across all categories so far was 501 kg. So he added at least 9.7%. Really impressive.

The 501kg figure is highly contested depending on you ask.
Thor did that lift in his own gym, with the plates weighed by his father.
If the potential former world record is questionable and this new one isn’t, then I’m even more impressed. ;)
Novikov is always fun to watch in strongman. He’s always usually the smallest and then ends up beating guys like shaw and hafthor in stages he really shouldn’t be able to. Dude is incredibly talented.

How do they verify that it really went up 18"?
I believe the 18" refers to the starting height of the bar not the height it needs to be lifted.
