I must admit that I do not get this one. Is this a reference to a television show that most readers in 1982 would have recognized?
The guy with the dark hair is Tattoo, who is the one saying De Plane. The other is the one saying the mean things about Tattoo.
I never saw it, but there was a show that had this premise, Fantasy Island. People would fly in to have some sort of fantasy adventure and the little guy would say ‘da plane da plane.’
