nocturne

In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil’s might
Beware my power–Green Lantern’s light!

  • Do I need a different account for each instance?
Not to post to an instance that federates with your home insurance. Like with this post, your home instance is .world and you posted to a community on .ml If you want your home instance to be .ml then, yes you would need an account there.

Not all instances communicate with one another. My home instance, Sopuli, does not communicate, or federate with nsfw instances, among others. If I wish to interact with those instances i need to create an account there, or on an instance that does communicate with them.

  • Anyway this makes having guests difficult so I am wondering if any of you fine people have suggestions for humane temporary deterrents?

Just stop inviting people over. If they insist on visiting, feed them to your spiders. If you want it to be humane, warn them first and if they still want to come over that is on them, they knew they would be spider food.

  • As plastic models became more widely used I noticed that metal sculptors tried to increase the detail of their kits. Sometimes this meant smaller pieces, that are more prone to breaking, but also smaller pieces means less surface area to contact with glue (unless you still solder your minis). Sometimes it meant more dynamic kits, which leads to more pieces, which are smaller, see the first point.

The breaking point for me was about 13 years ago my daughter was and avid player of the game Malifaux, she built her army, she painted her army. Her favorite unit was a young nephilim called a terror tot, he was skipping, one foot on the base, one foot in the air, arms out making him like t. Well for some reason each arm was its own piece. This was a tiny kit, and the arms kept falling off. She was devastated. One of my good friends was a retired professional model builder/painter. He took the kit to pin the arms for her. But they were so small there was not enough room to pin.

Not only were the arms falling off, but it happened during a huge tournament, it really upset her, she thought she had done something wrong, and wanted to withdraw from the tournament (she ended up coming in 3rd place, 1st of those under 18).

ETA: this has nothing to do with Oathsworn’s minis. What I have done of Mike’s kits have been great and do not seem to, for the most part, fall into these pitfalls. But I am too old and blind to mess with metal any longer.
