WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday he wants the U.S. to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere.
“We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,” Trump said a start of a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Protestors made a poor decision. Despite protesting for the right reasons the consequences will be more harmful to those they sought to stand up for.
This was not an unforeseen consequence, everyone with a brain was screaming it from the rooftop, and now here we are.
Most of them never had good intentions, and hardly any of them gave a shit about the Palestinians at all. The rest were fools.

I really don’t think the protestors should be the ones worried about their immortal soul for their behavior regarding the genocide debate.
Why not?
If you think about this from an individual perspective, if you go out to a protest, and by doing so block an ambulance from getting to a patient leading to their death. Morally, that death is on you.
This isn’t any different, by protesting you caused an electoral result that led to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Being part of a group does not absolve you of the results that group causes.
Again, The road to hell is paved with good intentions. That saying exists for a reason. People do things for the right reasons, but they turn out to have bad consequences all the time.
You act like the ethnic cleansing is a new development and that providing passive support for it throughout the last year had no consequences. If you think anti-genocide sentient caused Harris to lose, the people who didn’t push her to avoid that pitfall also share blame.
How else were they supposed to get the democrats to stop driving the bus off the cliff?
If it was unforeseen, why do I keep seeing liberals blaming the people who spent 4 years screaming what would happen from the rooftop, while the democrats spent 4 years either trying to be republicans or whining about how powerless they were instead using every measure at their disposal to do what the people whose votes they need are telling them to do?
It took trump all of a day to enact hundreds of life-changing policies. Don’t give me some horseshit about how the president of the united states was powerless.
You can’t always get what you want, and sometimes you get what you don’t want. Knowing when is the right time to take action is just as important sometimes as taking action.
All this protest did was end up with Palestinians in an even worse spot.
I said it was NOT unforeseen. People knew that these protests would suppress democratic voters, and would be unlikely to sway the current administration. They protested anyways knowing that could cause a Trump victory. Now by the time the next election comes around, there may not be a Palestinian people for the Democratic party to support.
This situation is the textbook definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Cutting off someone else’s nose, in this case, which is worse.
The notion that the reason the genocide was unpopular because of the protestors is absurd. The protesters were responding to an incredibly unpopular thing, not causing it to be incredibly unpopular.
The previous administration stopped running and put Kamala in when they saw they had no pathway to victory, so they’re capable of making changes when they know they have no alternative. It was only the “vote blue no matter who” crowd who allowed them to live under the delusion they could win while trying to be republicans.
It’s not the genocide that was unpopular because of the protestors, it was voting that was unpopular because of the protest. The protests brought far more attention to the situation, and people stayed home on voting day because of it.
If you think that the only difference between Democrats and Republicans was their support for the Israeli situation then you’re completely delusional.
4 years from now, when democrats are running on building the wall, mass deportations, getting tough on crime, banning trans people from public spaces, and continuing whatever war Trump starts, you will be telling anyone telling the democrats that this is unpopular “shut up, this really is super popular and the democrats really can win by adopting the republican platform from 4 years ago”.
