    “My hobby is collecting hobbies.”

TBH, I made a rule for myself that I need to wait 30 days before putting money into a new fixation. It’s helped me not to waste a ton of money.

That’s generally a very good rule.

Personally if there is something I want I tell myself to wait at least a week, look at alternatives, etc and then see if I still “need” it.

Day 1: This time I’ll finish my game I’m making!

Day 5 (after wrecking my sleep schedule and several skipping meals): alright, I put in a lot of work on the foundation, building the game will be easy

Day 6: stare at screen for 3 hours without doing anything, go back to bed.

DAY 27: I’m going to restart that game, this time I’ll finish it, the old one is kind of a mess anyways.

Oof, I feel this. I hyperfixated on ttrpgs recently, and scheduled two tables to run though July at least…and I can feel myself burning out and losing interest (in being a GM). I guess the good news is I’m more afraid of losing my friends than doing something my interest has faded on.
