The stove in my new apartment was a fluke, but with a couple immersion heaters I got better boils than I’ve ever had!
That is quite the rolling boil you’ve got going on there. My stove definitely can’t do that.
Is it 220V? Ever since using an induction burner on a boat I’ve been fantasizing about stove-and-oven-less kitchen.
Yup. Bigger kettle has 2kW and the smaller one is 1,5kW. The stove itself is also on at about 50% power.
But how bad is the washing?
Not nearly as bad as I thought. Mostly just some scale.
(those commercial beer makers often have exposed coils in the bottom, so it’s no worse than that.)
Was always on my list when I was still doing this. What kind of beer were you making?
It’s a simple pale ale with random hops from my parent’s yard. Trying out that hop was actually the reason why I got into homebrewing initially.
Are those hops good? Would you share a bit of rhizome for me to clone?
I can’t stop thinking that Finnish hops grown in chill weather might be a hidden treasure, once we figure out how to tune the recipes.
