Ive usually bought champion ($35 ususally) and theyre decent, but theres gotta be other stuff out there. Im looking at as colour right now, because i got a hoodie at a festival from them and its super nice, but theyre $50 each unless you buy in bulk

what brands are out there that wont be a scratchy mess on the inside in one year?

I dunno about life, but my carhartt heavyweight defenders last years. They get worn to jobsites and get the shit beat out of them.

I do have one I use for weekends and I think it 3 years old. Maybe 4? It’s faded but no fringe on any of the cuffs. And the hood is nice and deep, side seems too, not one up the center.

I’d also give it up to Carhartt. As someone who has worked his entire life in the tree business, they are pretty freaking tough. I switched to crewneck, though; got tired of the kangaroo pouch filling with sawdust. One caveat: the sizing skews large—substantially, IMO. At least when the fit says “loose,” in any case.

Although it’s kind of tactical wank, I’ve had a triple aught design fleece hoodie for 12 years and its held up really well to all sorts of camping, hunting, hiking etc. Great for cold weather

Hollister is some rich kid shit but I got a hoodie for 25 bucks like 15 years ago and it’s held up, and is very soft and comfortable. If you like plain unbranded stuff, H&M has Divided stuff with absolutely no logos and mine has held up acceptably. Lost a zipper tooth but that’s about it after 7 or so years. Cheap too. Also if Costco exists where you live, Kirkland makes unbranded hoodies for cheap cheap. Have not had mine long but it’s perfect for cool weather (too breathable for winter, imo).

Eddy Bauer makes a good sweater. I pick up additional ones every year when we drive by the outlet malls.

I have had my World of Warcraft hoodie from Jynx for 14 +/- 2 years and have only started looking to replace it recently. Sadly Jynx’s stuff is no where near the quality it once was. But if you can find an old used one in good shape it will last.
