Well today is the big day. Valve has now formally revealed the Steam Deck, a portable handheld gaming console powered by a new version of their Linux-based SteamOS operating system.
Pretty much exactly what I expected and hoped for. Really nice :)
They mention it in the dev video. Not sure if they say here that they plan on having it ready before it hits the market in December. If not in that video, there is a video out there with a steam official saying exactly that (maybe the q&a or the Gabe video?)
OK FUCK, IT’S HAPPENING
OK HOLY SHIT THIS IS HAPPENING
orgasms
EAC and BattleEye will be Proton compatible before this is launched.
It. Is. Happening
THE SUDDEN REALIZATION THIS POSSIBLY MEANS PROTON ANTICHEAT SUPPORT BEFORE DECEMBER
orgasms harder
I will completely ditch windows if this happens.
Do you have a link for that info? I know they’ve been working on it but I haven’t seen news in a while.

The dock is the cherry on top, you can actually use the thing as an actual workstation too!
It really has everything going for it. Already have a big Steam library? The you already own a shitton of games for this.
IMHO only negative point I can see right now is that it seems a bit too big.
Yeah, but then again I really, really like devices as big as my pockets can fit. And this seems perfect.
