I know it’s annoying in a Windows community to talk about how Linux is better, but I really like the consistency (I don’t have to learn a new workflow every few years) and customizability of what KDE Plasma gives you. In general, there’s a lot of choice on Linux regarding desktop environments (DEs); you can either continue to use what you’ve always used or you can change to a fancy new DE. Xfce for example looks and feels the same for many, many years now. KDE only made a small-ish break going from 3.5→4.0, but there’s even a community continuing 3.5 with the Trinity DE.

I really don’t have any incentive to switch to Windows since all my apps run well on Linux, even Windows games (which, incidentally, sometimes run even better). The only thing missing is a tax software I have to use, but for that I just have a Windows 10 Pro VM, which will hopefully be supported for a few years.

Exactly, customizability is what I like. I’m thinking of using Windows at least until 2025, after which I switch to Pop OS.
