If that happens, there’d be a draft and a real boots-on-the-ground war in Iran. I don’t think USA would just brush that off, as much as you hate the guy. I could be wrong of course, I don’t know how they really think.

They have “made good” on these threats several times. Biggest reason why you don’t see them all the time is because the intelligence services of various countries are doing their job.

I think Sanchez is wrong, but I also think that he should be allowed to be wrong without dumb trade war threats by a supposed ally. Spain under his rule has been one of the worst in failing to comply with NATO spending targets. Personally, I’m glad that he’s on his way out in the next elections.
