Yeah but how many 0s do you have before you get to the first 1? I’ve been working on it but still don’t have a definite answer.

mattito Europe@feddit.org•Why Estonia's schools are abandoning teaching in Russian | Focus on EuropeEnglish8·4 months agoKids, when thrown into a new language environment, will learn it reasonably well in short order and can become perfectly fluent in a year, give or take. It really isn’t such a big deal. Mind you, these aren’t kids from halfway across the continent, they are kids born and raised in Estonia so it’s not like they’re starting from scratch.

mattito World News@lemmy.world•Bill Gates calls Elon Musk’s embrace of far-right politicians abroad ‘insane shit’English2·5 months agoA person doesn’t become not smart no matter how much he flirts with neo nazism. They might be an immoral piece of shit but pretending he isn’t also smart can be extremely dangerous, lest people think we can now just let him wreck his brand and become irrelevant.
mattito World News@lemmy.world•Bill Gates calls Elon Musk’s embrace of far-right politicians abroad ‘insane shit’English711·5 months agoTo be fair there are plenty of ruthless greedy people with zero morals out there but Musk is far more successful than any of them so something has to differentiate him. He might not be intelligent enough to recognise what a crigerworthy loser he is but let’s not pretend he isn’t smart.
I don’t love it either but the scale does look the same across the four.
Ohh it’s my time to two up someone on the Internet. I broke mine playing hide and seek as a child, managed to trip over and squash it under my foot. Then again getting it caught on the edge of a gym floor mat. Then again stepping over my hockey bag. Still the only bone I’ve ever broken.
I joke that if it happens one more time I’ll just have the damn thing lopped off.

The whole game came across as pretty decent but they really stretched the repetitive content to make a full game around the story.
Yeast is not on the list but the 2kg of sugar wasn’t just for cakes I’m sure.

mattito Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that electric toothbrushes are 10–20% more effective than manual toothbrushes at removing dental plaqueEnglish4·6 months agoAgreed. Two things that worked for me: -open your mouth and let excess water run out as easily as possible. It feels dorky but the stream is way more effective if it doesn’t have to cut through water -just do a little bit and come back to it the next day, there’s no need to start with a deep clean
mattito World News@lemmy.world•Baby red panda dies due to 'stress caused by fireworks,' renewing calls to ban their public saleEnglish32·7 months agoI’m not British but have been living here over a decade and I still notice how frequently fireworks go off a week leading up to any of the big nights and for a several days after. Other places I’ve been in Europe very much do fireworks on new years eve only, and just a small handful of teenagers might be playing with fireworks a few days early, or playing with the leftovers the next day.

He knew to expect this, the Finnish broadcaster already did an article on him this summer, but without disclosing a name or face, citing that he is not charged with any crime.
Not true. Though the nazis certainly built a lot of additional Autobahnen to prepare for the war, they knew they would start.
I don’t follow.
And nazis rolled out the highway system, but that’s not a reason to dislike it.
You, no. Some other guy, maybe.
