I feel like they could have gone much crazier with the premise, but it had some great jokes.

Maybe your friend doesn’t really want to talk about kids when they have some free time away from them and is possibly interacting with others who don’t have kids?

As someone without kids…it’s not very interesting to hear about my friends’ kids. I understand they are a huge part of their lives - taking most of their time. But also being able to talk about other things matters.

For me the content is just not quite there on Lemmy. Less stuff overall and less interesting and active communities. I wish Lemmy became a lot more popular because Reddit is firmly in an enshittification phase.

There’s just not any true benefits for me to run Linux. Windows and MacOS have their own bullshit but generally the amount of BS is easier to manage than Linux.

I’d argue that logos are a hugely expressive form. It’s just that 90% of them are basic ass shit tier stuff.

AI has basically raised the level of “shit tier” pretty high. I sometimes go check out Hotone Audio’s Facebook page to see if there are new firmware updates for my device, but they mainly peddle pointless AI slop marketing images. I’m sure there are tons of companies like this.

It’s the literal example of the marketing person being able to churn out pictures without an artist being involved, and thus the output is a pile of crap even more vapid than stock photos.

Meanwhile my wife loved it. I think there is room for this kind of movie aimed at women as well.

I really liked it too I thought it was one of the better movies in the series.

Analog connections are very universal. You don’t need to deal with handshakes between devices, sample rate differences, clock systems etc. because each device receives and outputs analog signal via mostly the same 1/4" jacks and plugs.

While a digital signal chain would have overall latency benefits and fewer A/D/A conversions, it just doesn’t matter that much with modern hardware.

Companies catering to shareholder whims and the demand for perpetual share value growth are the reasons why many companies go to shit when eventually that growth comes from layoffs, worse work conditions etc.

Pay your workers fair wages, offer a good work/life balance and keep them happy to work for you and they will go above and beyond.

I think you could do almost anything for a day. One day is “Here’s Jim, he’s new, and we are going to show him how we do things here” stuff where little actual work happens.

A month would be a more realistic situation. I wouldn’t want to be military in an active war zone, work for a drug/trafficking cartel, or any other dangerous profession where the likelihood of dying or going to prison is high. Or professions where I’d have to actively harm people.

That’s why lifestyle creep is a tough one. You make more money and then start thinking you want a bigger home, nicer car, eat out a lot more etc. It’s hard to scale back from that when the times get tougher as selling a multi-million home isn’t that easy.
