That’s wonderful news! I hope that you’re feeling okay otherwise and that it wasn’t a scare based on symptoms that you don’t have answers for yet.

Not a bad week so far! My dad had a pretty big surgery last week but was able to go home on Tuesday, which was a relief to all of us. Otherwise enjoying the teacher life still on Summer vacation, finished playing Life is Strange and still jamming on Diablo IV.
Is ‘There Is No Game’ compatible with your iPad? That’s been one of my favorites!
It may not be the laptop, but it’ll always be something else. “He got off easy!” “Wonder what strings Biden pulled to get this deal through…” “Trump would have NEVER done this for one of his kids!” Blah blah blah.
It’s always onto the next thing for them.
Personally, I think the new art looks incredible! It manages to stay true to the original style of the SNES release, but looks modern and can show off a ton of personality. As long as the gameplay is still great, and I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be, I think there is plenty of space for both releases to coexist.
Plus considering Nintendo added Link’s Awakening DX on NSO despite the Switch remake having already been released, it seems like they think so too.
BREAKING: Apple is filing a legal action on the folk lore of Johnny Appleseed, requesting changes to the tale. Johnny’s name will be changed to Timmy Apple, a reference to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. It also states that instead of planting apple trees, Timmy is distributing iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks; and rather than them being free, Apple will be charging recipients market price for each item.
-Apple, probably.
Mostly that it was a GBC game being released in 2023 with the website being the assumed location it would be played. I honestly figured it was just a generic file type that was made in the style or with the constraints of the Game Boy Color, not that it was actually a Color game.
I personally love the games; they provide a satisfying gameplay loop of murdering hoardes of enemies to get better equipment so you can kill even stronger enemies. Using new builds and discovering new attack combinations/synergies is a lot of fun as well!
Diablo 1 has a great atmosphere but is pretty lacking by modern game standards. If you decide to play it, I’d recommend adding the Hellfire expansion so you get an extra class and the ability to sprint.
Diablo 2 is brilliant and lets you party up with up to 7 people instead of the max of 4 in D3 and D4. It’s definitely a tougher game compared to the newer releases.
Diablo 3 is a fantastic game now that they’ve added the Adventure mode and rifts which make it way easier to tackle quests and grind for gear. It’s also almost limitless on its difficulty unless you invest hundreds of hours into a character.
I’ve been jamming on Diablo 4 since it came out, and it could work out to being the best in the series; however, it’s clear that it has a bit of growing to do. The skills are fun and fair though, and the five classes are diverse enough to give you plenty to chew on as you discover your preferred play style.
Obviously I love them, but I could see how others might find them repetitive. I’d snag D3 on sale (or it’s probably discounted now) and decide if you feel like D4 would be worth $70.
It’s quite clearly the pound of British pounds. With a pound of feathers, one may feel a sense of ‘freedom’ as if they could attach the feathers to their bodies or clothes and fly away. A pound of British pounds carries the baggage of capitalism; the holder will not feel the sense of weightlessness, but rather the incessant need of more. You’re gonna carry that weight.
I know what you mean, but even the idea of “getting into Star Citizen” doesn’t make sense to me because, well…what in the world is there really to get into beyond the few demos they released?
For the one other person who might be wondering, the game works on CFW as well!
OlliOlli World is easily worth the price of admission! NBA2K is a great basketball sim too, assuming you avoid the ultimate teams and have the hard drive space as well.
It would have to be a multi-team deal for sure. Spurs aren’t missing out on Wemby, and Charlotte would likely want to stay young instead of giving up Scoot or Miller for an overpaid Beal. That leaves Portland, no way we want Beal over whoever falls to us either.
I would love to see a new Skies of Arcadia game on modern hardware!
Planning on sticking around! I’m losing RiF and Jerboa seems to work well enough; hopefully it continues to improve as the platform continues to get more popular. I’ll likely still check on Reddit for certain communities as they develop here, but otherwise I’m digging Lemmy and would love to see it grow!
It’s insane both that Zion is on the market at all, and that there isn’t really a good estimate on what his value is. Whatever team winds up with him gets a player who was the undisputed first pick of his draft class and had been hailed as the future of the NBA, but also an incredibly fragile player who’s playstyle requires him to be physical.
Seems like one of the biggest gamble trades in a long time.
For the zero people curious, yes, it runs perfectly as a regular GameBoy Color game and should run on homebrew and retro handhelds!
While he’s probably right, the blackout is giving Reddit users the chance to return to old sources of news and entertainment, or encouraging them to try new communities like Lemmy. Ideally the blackouts continue, but I think the biggest threat to Reddit is a long-game when other alternatives become viable.
Man I definitely need to download this when I get home today!
I have a really tough time convincing myself to play a game through emulation if I have already have access to the game in a way that I can use the original controller. But most of the time that translates to me just never playing it because I need to hook it up to a TV…and most of them I can even just play anytime, anywhere if I get over that! So I need to take my own advice and get over it so I can at least just play the damn games.
I was actually just learning about the MiSTer project, it sounds really neat. Maybe a bit prohibitively expensive as of now, but if you have the funds it sounds like the best way to go. Solves tons of the issues that I have for my retro goodies!
