I’ll probably try Zelda TOTK again soonish, because I wasn’t able to get it to run correctly (or sometimes even at all. Reading the comments here, it looks like it improved.

Diablo is a much more approachable game, more casual, more streamlined. It’s much less complicated than PoE
FWIW I briefly tried it on my Deck yesterday, and yes it runs well. Though I capped the framerate to 45 because the fan was running at full blast and the device was getting hot.
I have the cheapest Hetzner VPS (it’s less than 5€/mo iirc), and I run a few self-hosted services on it. I’ll try to install Lemmy this week just to see, but I don’t doubt it will work without any issue.
I’m probably not going to open it to registrations tho, not really the kind of stuff I want to manage.

Mastodon can have (has?) the same problem. This is somewhat solved with the self-verification process though, so it could be done similarly on Lemmy.

Fore niche-y communities, probably. For more generalized ones (like “gaming”), I can see several communities evolve in parallel, each with its own culture and preferred content.

I’m playing on my Steam Deck like I was playing on my Switch 6 years ago. I prefer my indie games on handheld devices, so a good half of my playtime is spent on the Deck.
Well when you host your own website with your own funds, you try to not pay for unneeded perfs. But then a few hundreds people join, register, create content, upload images and videos, and suddenly your small VPS can’t handle the load. And you’re hesitant to scale up because it costs money, sometimes it costs time too because you need to migrate stuff, and maybe in a few days (or a few hours?) that load will disappear and now you’re on a more expensive tier for nothing.
Less Google = better. The results are also better, and looking for stuff is a good part of my programming job.
I think I have 50+ hours in Dark Souls III, and never went past the Abyss Watchers. Either I get frustrated and quit for months, or I have a technical issue and my save is lost. Then I start a new save, rinse and repeat.
I also have 200 hours in Binding of Isaac, still play it regularly, but will probably never truly finish it. I’d be happy to reach the final final boss at least once, but the last DLC is really hard.
There are other games I never finished after many hours of course, but those are more open-world/free-roam games, so I don’t really count them.
As good as I expected. Capped at 45fps, TDP at 10 Watts. Most of my settings are set to Low, textures at Medium. I think I could set a few more settings at Medium and still get 45fps but I like my fan to be as quiet as possible, and anyway given the small screen, I’m not sure I’d really see a difference.
