I might be breaking up with my boyfriend the next time I see him.

I think I put in much more effort. I go to his house because I have my license (he never got his). He doesn’t text me to make sure I get home safe, so I might as well have just left his house and see how long it took him to notice I wasn’t reaching out to him. On that note, I generally am the one to reach out first. Listen to him talk about himself and his interests. Today I listened to him explain about how a sound mixer works because he was so excited about it. Yet the whole card thing. He couldn’t even write me a bloody card after he said he would.

Most recently, he’s been ignoring my text messages if I’ve sent long stretches of messages. He will leave me on read for ages or just not reply, which makes me feel like he doesn’t give a shit about him. And today when I brought it up, he just said, “Do you want me to go back and read all of those from ages ago?” making me feel like I was in the wrong. Not even a “I’ll reply later”. His excuse was that he gets overwhelmed by long stretches of text. HOWEVER, if I ask something about him or his day, he has no trouble talking about that. Selfish prick.

I got so pissed at him today that I gave him an ultimatum over fucking text message. I told him why I was mad and said if he doesn’t step up his game, we are over. We have a musical to go with tickets THAT I GOT HIM FOR HIS BIRTHDAY and then I AM FUCKING DONE! I AM GOING TO SUCCEED IN LIFE AND I AM NOT GOING TO LET ASSHOLE IMMATURE BOYS STOP ME.

    Thank you and good night.

DRAMATIC EXIT in style of ANGSTY TEENAGER

Not a teenager but I almost feel like one right now sadly. I shouldn’t have to revert back to such an awful period in my life.

I might go and get my nails done (even though that’s kinda silly and I’ve never done that) and head to the gym to feel better.

That’s not how you treat someone you’re invested in (his behaviour). He comes off as a user type. Getting you to do all the legwork, all the listening, getting you to buy him things…

It’s a shame about the tickets as he doesn’t deserve them. But you can always just dump him now?

Edit: I’m sorry to speak so plainly. But seriously, fill the gap he occupied with something that feeds you or advances your life, he’s ‘there’ but is really just taking from you.

It’s pulling down your self esteem and the amount of time spent traveling to him and thinking about him means you won’t be able to accomplish something else. Like building a real support network, studying for a qualification, meeting a genuinely good guy, or working towards a career change. In your 20s that time is so valuable.

      The guy is an idiot.

He doesn’t seem to know how precious it is to have a loved one speak, to have a loved one share. That sharing is what makes intimacy, is what informs.

People who love you want to know.

I could listen to my loved ones all day. 😻

That said, I come from a background where no one was interested in me so I don’t know how to do it, I had to teach myself ( so I am very imperfect)

So maybe he doesn’t know how.

There must be a german word for the slight feeling of disappointment when your test results come back negative, and it’s not that you want something bad wrong with you but you do wish someone could tell you why you are so tired and run down lately… (other than just being tired and run down …)

Can completely relate. I had a full set of bloods etc. done late last year for pretty much this exact reason, and according to the tests everything’s just dandy. Feeling like utter garbage seems to just be part of getting old.

Huh. I was just thinking there should be chocolate toothpaste with fluoride, and saw Chemist Warehouse has it. There are a bunch of novelty flavours (some of them half off too) but I couldn’t justify the price.

Ah man… I feel like I have a tendency to accidentally stick my oar in a lot, or sound like a know it all. Just know it isn’t intended that way. I have little pieces of random info and am trying to contribute to the convo, tend to infodump, or am genuinely trying to help. I’ll rein it in.

Che disastro, my street is blocked off for the next month for tram works, and the council promised I would still have access to my driveway. The construction company has decided no we won’t have access. So now the council is pissed, and I have one car stuck in the carport and one car that can’t get back in, and I don’t have permits to street park. All a complete cluster fuck, but at least the council are actually being really proactive about finding a solution for me.

    How was everyone’s weekend?

Since moving out on my own, I’ve put on weight. I don’t know how. I’m eating healthy, my dinners are usually a combo of chicken, veggies, and rice (sometimes no rice), I don’t eat much during the day and don’t snack as much. No soft drink, mostly water, very little chocolate or sugary snacks. It’s frustrating so I decided to do some more active work. I went for a run on Sat and Sun morning and feeling it today.

    Old age is a killer.

I also bought some boxing gloves and a punching bag to do as well and plan on getting a bike to do rides with little one.

I got three concept ideas for my next book cover and all three are amazing. I’m stuck between 2 to choose from. Good problem to have.

nah, that’s not a danger moment, that’s showmanship.

It’s a show and part of the thrill for the audience is the perception of danger, so the performer makes it look scary. Another thing is the audience has to think it’s difficult. Now these performers do this all day until it’s second nature, but then the audience doesn’t see the skill and practice in it. Hence they have to make it look difficult or the audience won’t appreciate it.

I’m not entirely sure the skipping rope misstepped was showmanship there. I think he messed up. Music went off and stopped the whole thing.

Maybe you are right, but I didn’t get that impression based on the show as a whole.

I’ve definitely caught something today, been feeling dizzy, sluggish and nauseous with an awful sinus type headache and a bitter taste in my mouth all day. Made myself eat but I think I’m gonna have a very early night tonight.

Finished reading The Ocean at the End of the World so I can finally return it to the library.

Now I’m gonna reread one of my favourites, Jasper Fforde’s Shades of Grey - or as much of it as I can before I fall asleep or throw up from this nausea - before the long awaited sequel Red Side Story drops tomorrow. 14 years!!! @lemondrop@aussie.zone I dunno if you come here much but I’ll be keen to know your thoughts when you read it.

oooh first habanero for the season:

Also has some corking! normally see that shit on jalapenos. I guess that means the water do be good.

Generally pick the smaller ones when they’re ripe so more energy is diverted to the bigger unripe ones.

Which brings us tooooo today’s not so rave choon:

Camping was amazing. The Mt Oberon hike was… intense but super fulfilling. Might need to upgrade the swag’s mattress though. Also gotta shout out to my new car, AC that actually works is a freaking treat!

We used to run up Mt Oberon as kids, we camped at the Prom every summer. I did it again just a few years ago and fitness is wasted on children.

I might have to. Gonna try a cheaper solution first. I’ve camped in WAY colder conditions than that before so I’m not totally sure why it was so cold, but the ground was hard as a rock and you deffo felt that.

What swag do you have? So many come with shitty inch thick mats. One of my camping buddies got a bit of foam and cut it to size, swags bulky as shit now, but he seems to sleep like a rock in it.

23Zero Dual 1100. I’ve been really really happy with it so far, this is the first time I’ve had a complaint to be honest. But I’ve never used it on dirt-so-hard-its-concrete either. its supposed to have a pretty good mattress in it, but my mate in a cheaper swag also had a bad time. he was talking about going to Clarke rubber and basically getting a yoga mat type material to go under the existing matress.

I’ve only seen that brand looking at awnings, looks like pretty nice swag though. Clark rubber thing was basically what my mate did, only he cut it down to size himself.
