There’s an idea. The old boy could learn to bbq. That’s acceptably manly, right? Potato salad/slaw and bagged salad come ready to eat so the old girl won’t be expected to make sides.
I personally disliked my countertop dishwasher but if your olds are less picky than me it could help them.

It seems like it’s taken such a long time for news outlets to become outwardly critical but even then it isn’t likely there’ll be any change because there’s a vested interest.
I didn’t get out of bed today. Slept all day. Not sick, at least I don’t think so, but I just could not be fucked.
I did some laundry before turning in so I’m going to spoon with the old baby until it’s time to feed her and then maybe do some folding if it’s dry. There’s paperwork I should at least start. Also the vitamin d weekly tablet I haven’t been taking.
Deciding whether I should try to take something at midnight in an attempt to sleep through.

Melbcat asked for uppies today and proceeded to have a long cuddle and scritches with a visitor! That was so cute. She pouted and sulked when cuddle time had to end before she was ready.

She’s still crying and wanting extra food (among a couple of other things) so I called the vet again about steroids for ibd flare. They talked about the side effects, blamed the osmolax, told me to monitor and call back Monday.
It seems they don’t want to deal with it but I keep calling to stay on it as long as she’s not feeling well. If there’s anything I can do for her comfort I will.
I’ve managed to screw up my sleeping pattern again.
Bonfires are so nice.
She never used to ask for anything but I’m hoping she’s just got more confident to voice her needs. It might be her age too
Melbcat is being very squeaky and squirmy. She’s learned to cry for the heater to go on, for extra snacks of wet food, and sometimes for no reason I can see. I’m hoping she’s just jealous of the computer getting attention. Maybe she just wants love.
I’m playing games way too much but right now it’s just what I’m doing.
2·5 days agoHouse deposit and begin paying it off. TAFE fees. Dental work or saving for future dental. Or just have it as a safety net while continuing to work and try to amass more. Reliable secondhand car to open up more job opportunities.

Be careful as you don’t know who you’re meeting. Anyone can pretend to be anything on the internet.
Also still be cautious as even if the person is a girl looking for friends, because there’s a reason some of them don’t have any.

Melbcat has been to the vet because she started crying again… it may be that the accidents were from overcompensating with the osmolax, and now it’s been drastically reduced she’s crying again possibly due to the constipation returning.
There will be a small regular dose (say 1/8tsp) that will slowly increase until a balance is found.
I feel a bit silly but relieved that that could have been it. It’s ok. I’m her mum and it’s my job to worry.

Yep… the social media age verification was the thin end of the wedge.
The answer to kids accessing age inappropriate content is education and parental supervision, not censoring the internet and infringing on all the adults. But then the government couldn’t push laws to increase surveillance and receive popular support.
I really wish I’d had the time and energy to degoogle and had never started using cloud storage. I’m going to have to back up all of my photos in case I lose access when I refuse to hand over my ID. (Which I should have already done.)
