It’s a good example, as murican celebrations end up reverberating all over the internet. I hate it when videogames force their holiday decorations, I don’t want my horror scenario to have christmas lights.

I don’t like it when they insert cringe festivities into pron. Who tf wants to see them doing the hoo-hah while wearing bright red Santa costumes or lame ass skits going like trick or treat? Aha you want the trick 😫. Cringe af.

To celebrate white land owners being given free reign to manifestly genocide their way westwards I presume. Idk I’m not American.

And my point is that this isn’t even a landmark celebration year (e.g. 50th, 75th, 100th), whilst we’re in the midst of genocide actively being carried out makes this post feel more like an effort to detract from current crimes.

Some things really should be remembered annually.

              This is one of them.

Gotta pump up those numbers. They’re too statistically insignificant so we don’t include them in our global concerns. Also they are probably occuring somewhere in the backwaters of asia or the middle east so they are all terrorists anyway.

All the more important to remind the genociders that they were the genocidee in living memory.

This is one of the very last Holocaust Memorial Days with some actual survivors still present. Those who were 16 when they were liberated are 95 now. Not many who were younger then actually survived, and not many who were older then are still alive now.

                  1. Most victims of the holocaust weren’t Jewish.
                  2. Of course there are plenty of Jewish holocaust survivors who are opposed to war crimes in Gaza. They’ve been criticising the Israeli government for longer than you’ve even been aware of this conflict. For example.
                  3. You don’t seem to understand what it’s like to survive the holocaust. These are deeply deeply traumatised people who are now being confronted with war again. Plenty of them want to die. Plenty are suffering severe PTSD and flashbacks.

Malding genocide supporters coping with the idea that they can’t possibly in the wrong and all decades of this is because of Hamas. Somehow all human beings in Palestine just happened to deserve to die

Yes I’m terrible because I don’t find an almost 80 year old event newsworthy compared to genocide occurring today.

I can only hope you feel that strongly about the Palestians being genocided that your government is throwing under the bus to support Israel for.

Last month was the 86th Anniversary of the Beijing massacre, one part of a genocide against millions of Chinese. You had an anniversary event to commemorate them, right? Or are you a terrible person and a massive hypocrite?

There’s no need to downplay the significance of past genocides just because of present-day genocides. Remembering the past is important: it’s no coincidence that fascism is on the rise again just when most of the people who remember living through it in Europe are gone. Remembering is necessary if we are to learn from the past, but it doesn’t guarantee we will, as Israel’s actions today show.

Im not downplaying it anymore than you are when you don’t make news of the anniversary of the Beijing massacre.

If remembering is so important to you, why aren’t you also remembering them?

What im doing is exactly the same as you do to every other genocide from the past.

What is stopping you from remembering or orginazing a ceremony? Orginaze one or participate in a ceremony of your choice. Don’t be bitter because people remember this specific holocaust. It is important.

If you’re talking to me, where do you get the idea that I’m not remembering that? Plenty of people make a big noise about it every year. But it feels like you’re trying to change the subject.

                Bullshit you do.
