Feeling much better. Inventory of my house turned up an abandoned bag that isn’t mine. Got my iPad and wallet back…and some paperwork with a name and address on it.

Just got off the phone with the crime scene people. They want that paperwork

Honestly I couldn’t care what date Australia Day is held. But I can’t help but think no matter what date is chosen some people won’t be happy. Because changing the date doesn’t change history.

If someone doesn’t believe Australia as it stands now is valid so to speak, any attempt to celebrate it on any day is going to stick in their craw.

Ah going wakeboarding tomorrow, haven’t been since the Before Times so I imagine I’m going to be sore at on Sunday.

I just wish my fam wouldn’t organise it so last minute, but it’s hard when the weather is as fickle as it is

I love it, been doing it since I was a kid with my aunts, uncles, cousins, and Dad. My cousins are all overseas now though, so I reckon I can get a good sesh in. I’m hoping my muscle memory is still intact, I’m worried I won’t even be able to get up hahaha!

Getting fingerprint powder residue off my front door is a multi stage process. I’ve gone through scans of paper towel and have progressed to a face washer

The powder is carbon based and electrostatically charged a bit. So hand sanitizer may work in conjunction with face washer.

I just had this weird urge to bake a cake but then I’ve remembered it’s a public holiday so I can’t get cake making stuff. Maybe Saturday.

I’d love some fresh warm cake.

I always keep stuff on hand to bake a basic cake and often have a cake mix on hand. You never know when that urge will arise!

It turns out I ended up baking today as well. We made “Harry Potter bread”. It had nothing really to do with Harry Potter, just that we gave the bread lightning scars - which were then promptly hidden by dousing them in cheese.

It was fun and creative with the kids, that’s what was more important.

Feel the need to stare at the beach. Heading down the cost a bad idea today? The weather’s not super warm, so I’m of two minds about how busy it’ll be.

Can’t sleep despite feeling gross. Watched Hirokazu Koreeda’s Monster. That was one of his best by far, much less of the cloying sentimentality that always crops up at the end of his films and tarnishes the emotional impact of otherwise sensitively observed characters. Those kid actors were amazing, too. I was fully engrossed. Can’t believe I didn’t watch this earlier. Highly recommend. I also want to visit the town it was set in, so beautiful…

Back to attempting sleep and no dystopian nightmares tonight, thanks.
