What in the world is transcode? I have heard this word for the first time in my programming career!
Transcode isn’t related to programming. It’s a process of transforming a video or audio file compressed with a certain codec, in another, or even modifying at the same time.
It’s what YouTube does for example. They are taking the compressed and encoded file, and transforming it in multiple resolutions, with different bitrates, and the file gets encoded to vp9 or av1 in most cases.
