Holy fuck this is pretentious. This right here? This preachy bullshit? This is why conservatives constantly make fun of us.

Look while the tone of the original post clearly could use some softening and the maker’s wording is a little naive, it does make some good points. You just have to look a little deeper than surface level

I disagree with the whole premise of the image. An image that only contains of text? Is this the future we want for our country?

I wonder what makes me more mad: this, or the fact that we’re not going to do shit about it unless there’s money to be made.

Alright, you know what? This is ridiculous. This image—this image wants me to pretend it’s interesting. Pretend? I don’t have to pretend anything. You know what’s interesting? The fact that someone took the time to make this! That someone, somewhere, thought, “Hey, you know what the world needs? A big block of text that tells people how to feel about it.” That’s not just interesting; that’s hilarious! It’s like telling a joke and then explaining why it’s funny. The sheer audacity, the unmitigated gall of this image to demand our interest—it’s almost admirable. But here we are, discussing it! So, joke’s on us, I guess? -Lewis Black

I find it to be derivative and banal, because I am very important and sophisticated and everything should always be about me. Look at me being smart on the internet. I’m a very special boy.

because newpipe sucks and is stuck a decade or more in the past ui wise so everything’s ugly and really hard to navigate it constantly crashes just opening a video it completely disregards levels of privacy people might want like not allowing people to sign in for just a sub feed and then watching the videos unsigned in which would still be more private than the youtube app so you have to do it locally so their terrible web scraper system can take 5 minutes to refresh your sub feed during which time you can’t use the app at all and it doesn’t even catch every video newpipe is genuinely terrible use revanced

It works, it’s FOSS and it has some pretty cool features. I have like 42 subs, so it takes like 1.4 seconds. Do you have better FOSS alternatives? I am open for recommendations! But I don’t wanna have to sign in with Google.

I know I heard back when it was announced it might fix some issues like the crashes slowness and ui being bad but there’s other issues with newpipe that are just due to their philosophy and aren’t ever going to change

Hmm you think so? Personally, I think that it makes more sense to share what is there, and not keep it for yourselves… Or was that what you were implying?
