Tensions rise in middle east as one side wants all the land to be subject to a Jewish ethno-state, and the other side, who are not Jewish, don’t want their homes to be consumed by the ethno-state, and no one will compromise.

Tensions rise in the middle east as the ethnic group that has formed 22 ethno-states in the region is attempting to ensure the 23rd ethno-state will belong to the same ethnic group, while Jews don’t want their homes to be swept into the sea, and no one will compromise.

Why can’t we just be against ethno-states? Even if we believe a Palestinian state would be as bad as or worse than Israel, Israel is the one with the power right now, and they are abusing it. They have no intention of making peace.

Because the only ethno-state you seem to be against is populated by Jews. Pure accident, I’m sure. Of all the hundreds of ethno-states.

Personally I am against all ethno-states. Removing an ethnic group from your state is always horrible.

Shia and Suna aren’t exactly בית הילל ובית שמאי… So I wouldn’t call it 22 solid. Shia and Suna are 22, but each is……… I don’t know enough geography.

It doesn’t stand out to me as “not meme” within the context of the other !memes@lemmy.ml posts.

Also, I have seen this type of joke made about Israel at least once before, so the meme is out there…

I wouldnt consider a simple screenshot of a news article as a meme in any case. But thats for the mods and users of this community to decide.

Gallows humor is a valid coping mechanism with life and death situations. It is a very human and humane thing to do, to laugh at the face of oblivion.

Children, elderly, patients at hospices of any terminal disease, mortuaries and graveyards, prisons, death camps, gulags, war, refugees, the sixth mass extinction, mass starvation, the eventual death and welcome oblivion of all that is born including but not limited to life, the universe, and everything else. We all suffer as conscious beings and it is a roaring maddening laugh.

You do realize that sometimes humor can be used to highlight and bring light to serious situations right?
