Hi Misterharbies - Using a browser, there is the magnifying glass at the top-right of the screen for searching.
You should be able to click that and search for the community !nrl@aussie.zone and it should appear in your search results (Aussie.zone is linked to lemmy.nz)
If it appears there, you should be able to click the link to visit the community from lemmy.nz and click the Subscribe button that is in the right-hand toolbar.
Thank you so much. I was searching for NRL, rather than !nrl@aussie.zone and it kept taking me to Aussie.zone where I am not logged in.
No worries. There are dev discussions on making this easier, obviously they have a lot on their plate at the moment.
