I decided to check out The Militant, a socialist news site, and it looks to be supporting Israel. I could be wrong and I hope I am, but wtf?

If it’s based in New York City, should not be surprised it’s run by a lot of Jewish people.

Sadly, many Jews blindly support Israel out of tribal loyalty. Like genocide is OK with them so long as it’s Jews doing the ethnic cleansing.

the vast majority of American support for Israel comes from the Christian Evangelical right, not from Jewish americans. I’ve never met a single Jewish person who actually supported isreal that was aware there was a genocide taking place. most of them have just been grossly misinformed about who lived there

Why would a socialist site even want to support either side in the conflict? Both are religiofascist ethnostates.

There are two wrong sides here… so it can be difficult to predict what anyone will lean further away from. Beware of assuming that means they are leaning toward the other side though.

There are more than two sides.

Personally I am on the side of the innocent civilians.

Supporting all out genocide is not what you would expect from a paper like that one.

It’s funny how people always cite Einstein on this letter but not Hannah Arendt. Given the subject matter I’d think of her as a way more relevant expert. Probably more about overall pop culture fame than sexism but interesting nonetheless.

To me at least she is known for Eichmann in Jerusalem: A report on the banality of evil. I am not very knowledgeable about her work and do not agree fully on all I know, but she has some interesting analyses.

Sorry missed these comments before but I’d HIGHLY recommend reading The Human Condition, great work that goes into the different types of human activity (labor, work, and action)
