StreetPass was a super cool feature. I used to take my 3DS on the subway with me and see how many new Miis I would get. Too bad there is no equally cool replacement for the Switch.

They didn’t actively remove it, they just didn’t reimplement it. Streetpass seems like a lot of work to implement, and with the move away from miis it probably would have needed a complete overhaul.
I’ll boot mine up this evening but I won’t be holding my breath for any hits. I hope I’m wrong
I took mine to ComicCon this year and got something like 90 Miis. It was cool.
Might take mine to the movie theater later tonight when I go see Scream. Hopefully tonight I’ll get one street pass. Only person I got from the Mario movie on opening night was my friend next to me.
i wonder if streetpass would work as a mobile app or that would drain battery too much
It’s no different than contract tracing that’s been on phones since Covid, probably neglible effect on battery since all it has to do is periodically scan nearby Bluetooth devices which the phone already does.

Last time I got a street pass was in May at a convention, and I got a ton.
No luck sadly, only had 9 trick-or-treaters come by.
Hope to get StreetPassed tonight. Will have both 3DS and 2DS at the ready.
