It’s back to the drawing board for Russia.
Sorry about that dude’s thumbnail. Very very poor taste.
Yeah, looks hilarious. Like these were not drones but large thermonuclear bombs. 😂
Let’s not make memes that imply thermonuclear war has started. Most of the autocrats are getting old and senile and might react. Also clickbait is just generally bad.
If this is true and they found a way to defend against Shahed drones at a fraction of their production price, the war will become even less sustainable for Russia. I’ve read multiple times that this is the last year Russia can fund this war the way it has been so far and with the amount of stuff it’s throwing at Ukraine. Once can only hope for that to be true. It will take a long time to get rid of all the mines in Ukraine.
Russia already can’t make tanks fast enough and so has been forced to not use them. They are running short on men willing to fight, but not yet enough to be a big proplem. artillary is likely running short but I have not seen updates on their ability to make more.
So, in short they came up with drone interceptors that are:
- capable of fully automatic deployment
- as cheap as $3000 (or $2000 because there are two costs named in the video) compared to Shaheds that cost 30k+
- are fast enough and with enough range to actually be efficient against strike drones
- now produced at a rate of 2 drones per day per worker
I think, this was bound to happen at some point and we keep moving towards extra cheap drone warfare
I also hope this helps immensely, but considering the amount of drones used for attacks, they will need a lot of those
I’m just sad I’ve been proposing this idea to be made in Finland even cheaper, for years, but nobody cared.
Labor costs are probably a little higher in Finland, and while Finland is a Tech economy I feel as though the Japanese + South Korean economies can make such technology just as well if not better.
Yeah, yeah, it’s just… we could’ve done it sooner. And I wouldn’t be broke now, too. Still happy that this was made, and it is on our side, and I sure contributed to the latter.
