I have head a similar story from Angela Merkel.

Putin found out she was afraid of dogs, so of course he had his “I am a short man who wants to be seen as imposing” huge dog present in a private meeting with her.

Vanity. It’s the Devil’s favourite sin.

How depressing that people who fluctuate between self-aggrandizement and narcissism still have such a disproportionate influence on the world.

What a dark joke that innocent men, women and children, are dying in large part due to someone’s ego, fear, and hurt feelings. Putin and his supporters may attempt to rationalise their reasons for going to war, but this is what it boils down to. Emotional behaviour.

Machos feel truly alive when they are at war. They show friendliness only out of necessity, when they are weak. Accordingly, they perceive friendliness as a weakness, as an opportunity to press forward. So macho’s dog has to be big and aggressive.

Putin is a narcissist. More accurately a psychopath sociopath and a narcissist.

Macho is more a kind of masculine pride. Although somewhat stupid, not nearly as bad as what Putin is.
