A popular post today asked for opinions from Republicans. The majority of the responses are not from Republicans.
If it was accurate, it would be a nearly empty comment section with one or two real conservatives who brought their real opinions.
I remember a similar comment section from when I first started here on Lemmy asking Twitter users why they were still using it and there were like a fucking hundred comments saying “I’m not using it/I don’t use it.” Cool, real helpful, folks.
Seriously, what compels this behavior? It only drowns out any real answers.
Is it really important to be the hundredth person to say the same shit that’s already been said in a thousand other threads? Especially when the thread in question was asking for differing opinions?
I don’t feel compelled to answer questions that don’t apply to me or which were not directed at me, so I don’t know.
Irony level “master”
I didn’t think I can answer this without being crushed under the irony
The smartass in me wants to ask if I can answer your question. More helpfully, I sometimes answer questions on here (Lemmy in general) because I think I can contribute to a discussion, and the more people that contribute, the better the experience for everyone (within reason).
As to your specific question, I’m not from the US but I guess there’s probably not very many republican voters on here - did you expect there to be?
I am not the one who asked for Republican answers, so I don’t know why someone would expect many to be here at all.
Like I said, I would expect an empty comment section, not one filled with non-Republicans answering.
Why don’t people do exactly what I tell them to?
Honestly not trying to be snarky here, but have you considered actually asking them the very same question, and see what reasons they give you?
