Since you’ve popped up, evading my attempts to block you on some of your other accounts, I might as well ask a question. How did you square supporting a candidate who is so openly pro-Israel, including in their current operation in Gaza? It takes some special level of… something, for them to manage to be quite a bit worse than even the Democratic candidate on the issue and still be asking for the leftist vote.
I’m happy to answer any questions you have, but I need to point out that I haven’t “evaded” anything. I simply use different names on other instances.
As you have seen, and sometimes been a part of, there are groups of people that regularly try to get me banned from whatever instance I show up on. But luckily, admins are seeing how weird and witch-hunty that is and are not instance-banning. Cool heads have prevailed. For now.
But I still gotta diversify just in case of an instance-ban. As every socialist-anarchist should!
If you block me, that’s fine—it’s not an issue for me. But I don’t use these names to evade anything.
But of course, I hope you don’t block me before I have a chance to answer your question:
I’m not pro-Israel or pro-Gaza. I’m pro-US workers. Just like you supported Harris even though you didn’t agree with everything she did or said, I didn’t necessarily support everything that Fruit did or said.
But I do support her efforts and the efforts of the SWP when it comes to labor here in the US.
I wasn’t voting for who I thought would win, or against who I though would lose. I was voting for the person who best matched my labor union and socialist viewpoints. Rachele Fruit was that person.
To be honest, and I don’t care how upset Lemmy gets about it, my life doesn’t revolve around the Middle East or Russia/Ukraine. We have enough problems locally, and that’s where I focus my attention.
Those other issues are serious, of course, but they aren’t something I dwell on. People’s views on them don’t sway me one way or the other.
I support pro-labor union, pro-worker candidates every time, just as I always said I would.
I’m also anti-censorship, and yes, I saw that you jumped in and commented on the recent “Let’s ban Universal Monk” thread from a few days ago. I also read where you think I’m mentally ill. LMAO.
However, calling me mentally ill just because I post frequently and share content you don’t approve of does a disservice to people who are truly struggling with mental health. I worked as a teacher’s aide for several years before retiring a month ago, and I worked with children who were genuinely mentally unwell.
I respect your right to have your opinions, but you are very, very wrong to label me as mentally ill just because of what I post on Lemmy. :)
And for the record, MANY of the things I said about the Biden/Harris and Trump capitalist duopoly are now being repeated all the time in c/politics on .world. I was saying the same thing that’s fairly commonplace over there now, and the community thought I lived in Russia or was a bot. Remember?
A lot of the things people are saying there now would have gotten them banned before the election.
Funny how just a few months and an election changes attitude, heh?
One thing before you block me though, I do appreciate you standing against the crowd and saying I was a real person.
I have no fucking idea why people thought I was a bot just because I didn’t back down from the bs. But hey, you always pointed out that you thought I was a real guy here in the US.
I have no idea why always add “mentally ill” to that disclaimer, since I’m not, but hey, it’s Lemmy! You can say whatever shit you want about me. But I’m not going anywhere.
Feel free to DM me if you want my email so we can communicate off-Lemmy or we can continue any conversation in DM’s or here in public. Or ignore me. I’m fine with whatever.
I have no ill will towards you even if I disagree with you. :)
I’m happy to answer any questions you have, but I need to point out that I haven’t “evaded” anything. I simply use different names on other instances.
Because you got banned on the first one.
This is my issue with you: Even when you’re pretending to be polite, you’re disrespecting the people you’re talking to. You’re wildly mischaracterizing important things into different things. Getting banned, and then making a bunch of accounts on new instances saying “Despite the attempts to silence me, I’m still here” is evading the ban. Using different names on other instances without that ban or with a change in behavior would be something else, and perfectly fine, of course. You also mischaracterized my issue with you, which I was pretty clear about in the comments you said you saw. I quoted mod logs of you violating the rules with incredible aggressiveness, pissing off almost everyone, and posting unhinged messages to people. That’s the problem, not that you support third parties. It’s nothing to do with “censorship” or “free speech,” but it’s perfectly your MO that you will say “calling me mentally ill just because I post frequently and share content you don’t approve of” to pretend that the issue is something other than what I explained that it is.
You probably saw where I acknowledged that probably I shouldn’t speculate about mental illness, I apologize for that. It’s true I have no idea. A lot of your postings and the sheer magnitude of them sound sincerely unhinged, or at least they did before you got instance-banned and came back with a friendlier approach. Honestly, if it was a sincere friendlier approach, I don’t think I would have any kind of issue welcoming you back. Like, “Hey, I still believe in this thing I’m saying, but I do want to promote it in ways that are respectful of the community while still being straight about what I want to promote, let’s talk about how to do that.” It’s all good, man. But you’re still trying to engineer ways around the rules, still posting ragebait like “transracial” and content from Fox News and Breitbart, while still pretending to be super-friendly and not understand what the issue is or was in the first place. If that’s just a pretense to amuse yourself, I think it’s fair to ban you for it, because that’s trolling. If it’s just who you are, which I think is a real possibility, then I think for your own sake you should grow out of it and start being real with people instead. And definitely, you should start to respect people’s consent to the interaction you’re having with them, instead of deciding you have the right to evade their attempts to have their boundaries respected, to any extent you can get away with. That’s the real issue that leads people to care about this trivial-seeming issue so much. It’s nothing to do with third parties or any of your professed beliefs. If you decided to do those things, people wouldn’t be so hostile to you, and also, any viewpoint you do want to say would certainly have a better reception, instead of a backlash that leads people to attack anyone promoting third parties as a Russian bot or what-have-you.
I don’t know why I went into so much depth about this, it is probably offtopic here. But, you’re the one who chose to come in and reply to my comment, when I’d taken steps to block you, so here we are talking about it and why I think you should be banned. You have 15 different accounts, by my count, so it would take significant time for me to sort out where they all are and block you on each and every one, so I’m stuck now with just explaining to you and anyone else reading what the issue is that leads me to think that, yes, you should be banned, for as long as this is your MO.
I don’t really have any ill will either, I just think that for as long as this is your way of interacting, I don’t want to be a part of it.
Yeah, I have never denied that. I was banned on one instance so I branched out to different instances. I decentralized, which lines up with the entire spirit of the Fediverse.
Getting banned, and then making a bunch of accounts on new instances saying “Despite the attempts to silence me, I’m still here” is evading the ban.
I disagree. Evading a ban is coming up with a DIFFERENT user name, then going into places I was banned from and continuing to post. I have never posted on .world since the ban (other than to respond to the thread you participated in and I worked with .world admin on that and made them and my admin aware of it).
By me keeping the same username across instances, I’m being transparent. It would be very easy to just pick a new name, and go back on .world and post. That would be ban evading, which I don’t do.
Me posting on another instance isn’t a ban evade by any definition. Admins agree.
I quoted mod logs of you violating the rules with incredible aggressiveness, pissing off almost everyone, and posting unhinged messages to people.
Nope. You have pissed people off, does that make you a troll? I never posted any unhinged messages. Please quote one in this thread. I wanna see. I haven’t changed what or how I post/reply at all. I stand by what I say and believe in.
still posting ragebait like “transracial” and content from Fox News and Breitbart
“Ragebait” is posting something to piss people off on purpose. I don’t do that. I post whatever I find interesting, regardless of source, and I follow rules of the communities. And when I don’t, they remove.
I recently had a community say my source wasn’t good enough and gave me a list of sources that they thought were acceptable. So now I only post from those sources.
Not everyone hates Fox News and Brietbart. You do, and that’s perfectly fine. If you modded a community, I wouldn’t post from those sources. But those sources are not outlawed in the US or the earth or Lemmy. Even if you wish they were.
I’m not sorry that I don’t hate Trump as much as Lemmy does. But apparently a huge chunk of the US doesn’t either, since he won popular vote.
But I still didn’t vote for him nor do I think he will be a good president. And I don’t think that just because I post a news article that is favorable to him makes me a “nazi.”
A lot of your postings and the sheer magnitude of them sound sincerely unhinged,
Please provide a sample of what you think was unhinged. I’m not being a dick, I honestly want to see what you think is unhinged. I stand by everything I said. And in fact, send people links to my previous conversations when I don’t want to repeat the same thing.
came back with a friendlier approach
I haven’t changed my tone at all, nor do/did I see a reason to.
because that’s trolling.
Trolling is saying things just TO piss people off, not saying things that happen to piss people off.
But, you’re the one who chose to come in and reply to my comment, when I’d taken steps to block you,
It’s not my job to find out if someone has blocked me or not. I didn’t even know you blocked me until you mentioned it at the start of this conversation by saying the variation of “in spite of my attempts to block you…”
Not only that, I was agreeing with your comment when I replied.
It seems to me now matter how or what I reply, you are determined to think I have some ulterior motive here. I’d really like you to just say what that is.
Don’t be vague, and say “you like to annoy people.” I feel that under the surface, you actually think my MO is something specific and sinister. If you feel that would break this subs rules, feel free to DM me.
But I am really, honestly curious what you think my goal is. People mentioned before that by me saying I supported third-party, it was to “throw the election.” Tho even if every single person that voted third-party would have voted for Harris, she still would have lost since the margin was so big.
And now plenty of people talk about voting or creating a third party. lol
I’m very curious of what you think my motive is. Or maybe it is just that you think I’m here to annoy. Or maybe you won’t answer because you’ve blocked me.
To your point, this is probably off-topic for this community anyway.
You sent that five different times to the same person, copy-pasting it, after a long and similarly emotional argument with them. That’s not an issue of free speech and the viewpoint you’re trying to express. That’s an issue of, you need to step away from the computer, get to a better place with yourself, because it’s not good for the community you are posting it in, or for the person you’re talking to, or for you.
I don’t know if pasting sections from the horror fiction counts, since it’s “supposed to be horror,” but that was a lot more unhinged. You found a way to write a long and descriptive story where your enemies on Lemmy got killed, but then could innocently claim it was just some creative writing unrelated to any specific people, and people in horror stories are supposed to die, and it’s normal.
It’s not my job to find out if someone has blocked me or not. I didn’t even know you blocked me until you mentioned it at the start of this conversation by saying the variation of “in spite of my attempts to block you…”
Fair. But it also shouldn’t be my job to find every one of your dozen plus accounts that keep popping up, and block all of them, and then any new ones you make.
You get blocked, banned, and in these hostile exchanges with people because you ignore the social contract. That’s on you, that’s your decision. Again, it’s nothing to do with the content you post, or not only because of the content that you post. So, it’s going to annoy people if they block you and then find more content from you popping up, even if you have made a case for why “I’m allowed to do it! The admins said I could! It’s just a new account!”
It seems to me now matter how or what I reply, you are determined to think I have some ulterior motive here. So before you block me, I would really like you to just say what that is.
Don’t be vague, and say “on you like to annoy people.” I feel that under the service you actually think my MO is something specific and sinister. If you feel that would break this subs rules, feel free to DM me.
But I am really, honestly curious what you think my goal is. People mentioned before that by me saying I supported third-parites it was to “throw the election.” Tho even if every single person that voted third-party would have voted for Harris, she still would have lost since the margin was so big.
I truly have no idea. I didn’t say I thought you had an ulterior motive, although I certainly think what you described is possible. I’m just describing your behavior.
You sent that five different times to the same person, copy-pasting it, after a long and similarly emotional argument with them.
And I don’t think that was unhinged. If someone keeps the argument going, I keep the replies going.
But it also shouldn’t be my job to find every one of your dozen plus accounts that keep popping up
And it’s not. Feel free not to worry about every account I make.
I didn’t say I thought you had an ulterior motive
Fair enough. I was curious and was probably reading too much into your anger.
I don’t know if pasting sections from the horror fiction counts, since it’s “supposed to be horror,” but that was a lot more unhinged.
Again, not unhinged. Those stories are direct parodies of the absurdity of Lemmy and how passionate people are.
Even the name of the series is “Tales from the Cryptic Lemmy.” Get it? Tales from the Crypt. The 1960’s outrageous comic and the cheesy 1980’s tv show. And I still write them and just added a story and am finishing up editing one now.
And I have never written any stories about any specific person on Lemmy. Inspired by the outrageous things said to me, yes, but that’s what creativity is. Just like singers write songs about shit people throw at them in real life, and turn it into an awesome tune. (Hi, Taylor Swift–I’m a Swiftie. :))
Also, let’s not forget that you said you didn’t even read them. So are ya saying that you have read them now?
Come on, fess up… it’s ok, we’re friends now. Ya finally reading my stuff? :)
By the way, my most recent story plays on the undercurrent of how some want Lemmy to just stay one way, an echo chamber. Kind of like, you know, a lack of color. It’s a fun pulpy horror story that I’m sure you will find some way to twist into me being unhinged:
"Dr. Caldwell answers a call for help at a strange, colorless mansion, but what he uncovers is anything but pure. In the Lady of Endless White, shadows linger even in the brightest of places!”
See the pulpy cheese of that? Picture the crypt keeper saying it. Kinda one of my best stories to be honest. :)
Dude, it’s Lemmy, don’t take it all so seriously.
And I’m actually writing another Crypic Lemmy story as we speak, so look for that tomorrow.
Since you’ve popped up, evading my attempts to block you on some of your other accounts, I might as well ask a question.
