    It is, i am using voyager for lemmy and it also remains animated when i downloaded it to my phone.

    I have yet to figure out why i can download some gifs easily while others either cant be downloaded or become stationary.

      If it is supposed to be animated, but isn’t, the likely answer is that the uploader tried to upload and embed it like a static image instead of using an external host. This cocerts it to a jpg most of the time.
