I think I’m going to have my own work Christmas party tonight. Being self-employed shouldn’t mean I miss out, right? The co-working space did a little Christmas lunch thing earlier in the week but it sucked, so my need to be drinking merrily to toast the end of the work year has not been satisfied. I was going to ask some friends to join for company but it’s so last minute.

Nothing too extravagant because I have to foot the bill for this one. A nice burger with a pint of beer somewhere would go down a treat.

just make sure you dont have too much to drink and sexually assault a colleague. Nothing worse than having to sit yourself down and discipline yourself for being too suggestive with yourself.

I have now finished my assignment and module quiz which are not due until Sunday - which means I have officially gone from being behind to being ahead, yay!! Plus I now only have the interesting subject to do, not the horrible one I was really hating doing. In celebration I present you all a bonus wattlebird photo, as seen in my assignment.

Back to Melbs today then looking after aunts’ doggo tm night.

Will be nice to catch up with the randos at the dog park. I’m guessing Hambam will be his usual self and try to herd inanimate objects / refuse to leave the park.

    Been a long week.

Grabbed 2 guitar pedals as an early xmas present for myself, which I’m looking forward to playing with tonight.

I’m so drained. Haven’t had a chance to play another gig since the first one because work has really taken it out of me.

I try to practice after work but it can be hard when you don’t sound very good because you’re tired.

    1 more week to go.

    And here’s to a relaxing weekend ❤️

Fucking trespassers on Mernda/Hurstbridge line…can we just have a train network where this shit doesn’t happen please? I’m paying $10 a day, least we deserve is a train network that works for that price.

My brother is a train driver that occasionally does that line as well as others. Just last week, he was driving the Upfield line. A brainless idiot driver steering by google maps missed a turning onto a road going parallel to the line. The driver then drove ONTO the tracks and proceeded north using those instead of the road. The car made it about half way to the next station before getting stuck, as train tracks are not roads and are not intended to be driven on in a normal car - even a four wheel drive has trouble. Its a width thing. The car was then sideswiped by trains going up the line AND down the line - the car ended up nearly fully crushed and derailed one of the trains. Fortunately no one was killed, and it wasn’t rush hour, but nothing that happened was the train network’s fault. You can’t stop pure damned fools from being fools - but we all have to wear the consequences.

These are good words. And a sentiment that’s all too easily forgotten at this time of year. 👼😇👼 You are a nice person Baku.

I’m one of those weirdo types who loved customer service. I miss retail work. I could see myself doing it again, only you can’t live off the pay. I liked this time of year: Yes it was super busy, but people were mostly pretty positive and the days flew by.

Nah, it makes perfect sense. People who are introverted or have issues relating to people are usually fine for this sort of work. The customer comes to you, and the list of things that they will require is manageable. There’s a formula to it. I thought of it as playing tracks on a CD to the customer. Your job is to know which track to play to them. Far easier than being required to think up conversation topics on people you need to approach in a social setting.

A wattlebird just showed up and I was able to get a decent photo for my assignment. It’s a bit of a relief, I was starting to think birds had abandoned my garden entirely.

I got paid for my tech support session, so it’s all above board and legit. It would be a good bit of side money if I can do it regularly.

Anyone can sign up, but this might be a good opportunity for Baku if you have the time. It’s an hour pit of your day here and there and you can make up to $70 if you’re willing to run the session https://youngster.co/
