Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Weinstrasse - Aftershave
Post Shave: Goodfellow & Co. - Face Lotion - Kelp & Sea Mineral
I think the Fatip Gentile (Italian for “gentle” or “kind”) would be a good starter razor so decided to do a side-by-side with another great starter razor, the 34C.
I’ll do another comparison tomorrow, switching sides to be all scientific with it.
All I can say is this shave was great, and I love both of these razors.
The blade basically aligned itself in the Fatip today, so I didn’t have to fiddle around with it. It was really easy to detect that it was properly aligned since this razor has safety bars that act as a visual guide.
Blade alignment on the 34C, of course, wasn’t even a consideration. Like most razors, it just works. I still prefer the build quality of the Fatip. I’ve had a 34C in the past that had poor knurling and a cracked handle, not to mention the head is made of zinc alloy which isn’t as bomb-proof as brass.

The 34C is such a well-performing razor. I can basically shave with it on autopilot.
I’m surprised Merkur doesn’t offer a version in stainless steel. I’m sure they’d sell well.
I did find some mention of a Razorock 34C clone here. I’ll be interested to see whether this comes to fruition.
The Fatip Gentile sounds like another lovely, mild razor. I’ll have to give it a try some day.
Oh that’s neat. I’ll have to keep an ear out for how people like it once it’s available.
